I have finally taken a day to clean around my apartment… eliminated tons and tons of clutter. It’s amazing to see your kitchen floor again after boxes had taken it over for a while. 😛

Well, the plans have changed due to the high cost of car rentals and the local Enterprise’s office lack of capability to schedule a one-way car rental. The plan is now a three leg flight, from Nashville to LA, LA to VA Beach and then back to Nashville. It’s way cheaper to go out of Nashville than here or Knoxville, maybe because it’s a bigger airport, I would gather.

Total airfare for both me and Greg on all three legs will be a tad over $800, and that is not bad price really for three flights.

More later…

First Post of 2007

So, I guess it’s time to blog for the first time in the new year, hope everybody had a prosperous and happy holiday season.

It’s offiical, vacation is going to be March 3rd through the 11th. Here is the tentative itinerary so far for me and Greg:

Friday March 2nd- Depart from Johnson City to LA, hopefully get there on Sunday the 4th

Monday March 5th- Go to Price is Right (early or late taping, doesn’t matter)

Tuesday March 6th- Sightsee anything around LA/Hollyweird

Wednesday March 7th- Depart LA by plane to VA Beach to meet John and Mike

Thursday March 8th through Sunday March 11th- In VA Beach with John and Mike

Sunday March 11th- One day drive home to JC

———-

Two words: Boise State. Wow. Un-fricking-believeable. Anyone involved in sports is calling this possible the greatest game ever played. It’s hard to give it that much status in history, but it’s pretty damn close.

———-

And I fell one game short of the final in the NBSFL. Oh well, it was a good run, not a bad season at all.

‘Tis all for now.

First off, for those Robert Cobert and Dark Shadows fans on my LJ, check out this CD collection. That’s right, the ENTIRE music library. I got it today, but I got a defect, they had two of discs 5 and 6 and no 7 and 8. Blah. They’re shipping another one but it won’t be until after the holiday.

Ah well, these things happen, but listening to what I can listen to, what a remarkable score this show had. I only hope that whatever I put on television someday can have something as top notch as this, no pop or electronic drum beat crap that’s in pop music nowadays.

Christmas is coming up, isn’t it. I’m not one to want a lot of presents anymore at this stage of my life, but the thing that I am most thankful for is my boyfriend/husband/significant other, Greg. Words cannot describe how lucky I am to have him. I know, it’s all sappy and such and some may not agree with my lifestyle, but who cares. I love him, he loves me, that’s all that counts.

If I don’t post again, everyone have a very Merry Christmas and hope you get lots of goodies!

Odd Dinnertime Connections

So I’m sitting at dinner in Greeneville tonight, and hear the song Anticipation by Carly Simon come over the PA.

Normally you wouldn’t pay that song no mind, but I think that I and other SNL fans on this blog service will forever link that song to a certain SNL fake commercial…

Look at this, specifically.

And I hope you don’t eat before watching this clip.

😛

Again, sorry for the lack of update here… but I’ve been very busy at work and in class. Would you believe I’ve pounded out two drafts of my final script for my Television Scriptwriting class? While for purposes of it not being finished yet, I prefer not to share the details of the script (i.e. plot, etc) until the final draft is completed. That way when I post a link here, you’ll see the finished project. I trust none of you guys will go off and steal my ideas and such.

Maybe I should take a cue from fostergray82 and copyright it once I get the final draft written.

Football season is winding down, and I will at least be going to Harrisonburg for the class A state championshing in Virginia to get footage (at least one local team will be there), or maybe to Lynchburg if the Richlands wins this week and gets to the AA Divison 3 state final. It has been an exciting and interesting high school season and I hate to see it come to an end. I can’t wait for next year already. Then again, basketball season is getting started up in prep-land, so that’s something to look forward to.

Me and the mister are doing great, just living life as a normal couple. BTW, I need to tell you this, next spring break, we are planning to go to… (gasp) California. Yes, mark your calendars, I am finally going to “The Price is Right.” And it’s now or never to see Bob in person before he hangs it up. I swear to you I’ll get out there and experience what so many of you on my friends list have already, seeing an awesome show in person at long last.

So, 81.3% of the state votes Yes on 1. Damn conservatives. I bet you the religous mongers got out the vote, then again, that’s the reason it was on the ballot in the first place. I am sick and tired of religious politics. I hope the Dems know what they’re doing in Congress come next year.

I just wish I could marry or at least have a union with my love. Why does it harm anyone else what me and my boyfriend do? People are just too scared of what they don’t understand.

In other news, I am going down to Jefferson City tonight to get highlights for a 2nd round Class 4A matchup between Tennessee High and Morristown West. This is the first time this season I will not only get to stay for the whole game, but get some post-game interviews. Exciting stuff, that’s for sure. I look forward to it, and I’ll have to practically be the blazing fury coming back up I-40 and I-81 to get back to Bristol tonight, considering I have about 180 miles on the round trip.

My thoughts coming up onto Election Day…

I’m sure everyone has heard about this Corker/Ford race here in Tennessee… I won’t care to disclose this, I do not intend to vote for either of them. If all they can do is sling mud back and forth to each other, than neither of them deserve my vote.

But the one issue that concerns me is this damn marriage amendment to the state constitution. I know I’m voting no, Greg is voting no, and several of my friends are voting no, but what will the rest of the state say? I bet that all the religous hate mongers who preach from the pulpit have gotten all the white haired old ladies and grumpy old men to go out to the polls and skew the numbers to get it passed. I guarantee you that’s what will happen, the polling place will resemble a dining room at KFC.

I guess I’m just about to lose my faith in democratic government. But I haven’t given up yet, stay tuned…

Wow, has it really been 21 days since I updated this? Sorry to be so long without an entry…

So, I have bought a laserdisc player, fun stuff, and not bad too, better than VHS in my opinion. I specifically bought this and scored a full set of the original Trek on LD. I wanted these versions because I will not settle for the altered DVD versions (the soundtracks were altered from what they originally were, and I don’t agree with that).

Tomorrow I get to go tape a college football game, at Virginia Tech to be exact, I think it will be very exciting.

Let me know you’re alive out there… talk to you later.

Well, it’s been crazy lately, as you can notice by my reluctance to update this blog. I am officially a smash hit over a Channel 5, they love my work. I couldn’t be happier, I think my career path is more or less set, or at least I have conquered the entry level. If I haven’t, then the world is some weird alternate universe with polka-dotted people.

Well, Greg and I have officially revealed a new game show to the masses, called “Clue Me In”, to begin production as a lab program at ETSU this coming spring, we are co-producers and I will direct, Greg will handle the judging end of things, and a few people are interested in being on the crew. The format is still not completely finalized, and I am leary about even revealing details here, as it’s not even in production yet, so I’ll withhold any details for now (and probably leave you on the edge of your seats at home… yeah right).

Well, not much more for now…
