Another Year Gone By…

Well, as I look back on another year of exsitence in this sad old world, I say to myself… “Damn, how have I survived this long?” It’s a question that I wish I had the answer to, but there is no answer to.

So, how will being 28 be different from being 27? No different at all. I just take every day as it comes anymore.

On the lighter side of things… Greg and I are heading to Knoxville tomorrow night to catch an Ice Bears hockey game… it’s 2 for 1 night, if you bring an empty bottle of Nesquik. Yeah, I think we can do that. And, even better, $1 hot dogs, sodas, small popcorn… it’s going to be a happy birthday, that’s for sure. 😀

That is all…

Well, “Clue Me In” has wrapped production for Season Two. I can honestly say that it’s been fun this year, we had a hard working crew and the show turned out well. Now, there is a dilemma: who will be the new host of the program? Christian, our host, is graduating and moving on. We have to find a replacement and pronto so that we can start working with said individual to get them up to speed on the game.

Just when you think you’re doing good… you have new challenges. That’s what’s life all about, my friends. 🙂

Well, time for an update, I suppose…

My fantasy team is 3-0, and I’m quite suprised, to be quite honest. I didn’t think I was going to pull out a win last week, but truth be told, I shouldn’t ever give up in the fantasy football world.

Season Two of “Clue Me In” is going well, we have two shows taped. The first of those is edited and in the can, ready to go on the air. The second will be edited next Monday, along with two thirty second promos to drop into other shows on campus cable promoting the new season and after the season starts. Still have to get flyers out and get some radio spots for “The Edge” (our campus radio station). It’s all about advertising… if they don’t know you’re there, they won’t watch you, plain and simple.

My directing still needs some work, but I’m doing a lot better on being my own technical director than I was on last season’s shows. There is always room for improvement. At least we had all our contestants show up today as they promised, no standing up! Things can only go up from here… just four more taping dates to go and the season is wrapped, with hopefully a total of eight shows in the can. I consider that a modest success, if it does happen.

Well, not much else to say, school is same as usual, and the love of my life is sweeter than ever. 🙂

Night all.

Greg scored big time for our production company today…

First, some back story… WEMT Fox 39 was housed on Hanover Road here in Johnson City up until 2005, then after Bluestone (under the guise of Aurora), bought the station’s operations from Sinclair, they moved the operations and master control to Bristol at WCYB.

Fast forward to this last weekend, and Greg gets an email that the former building has been sold, and the new owners, Bonten Media Group, want to get rid of everything out of the buidling to make way for some possible new tenants. Including equipment. Yes, you heard that right, equipment.

So, Mooneyhan/Brobeck Productions is now equipped with a Sony VO-9800 3/4″ U-Matic SP record deck, and a Sony BVW-95 Betacam SP side loading cart deck (playback only). Wow, equipment that cost a buttload brand new was handed to us without question. The latter was used in a Betacart setup, most of which is going to the ETSU Division of Broadcasting (so, I’ll be seeing more of where it came from, too). Also, lots of BNC cables. The decks work perfectly, which means that we can import anything off Betacam SP or 3/4″ U-Matic!

Wow, what a way to move up in technology… now if only we could get a Betacam SX or a DVCam machine…

OK, this is a strange story…

Woman Locked in Bank for 6 Hours

OK, how can you do this sort of thing? How can you just forget she’s there!?

The intelligence of some people just astounds me.

Power of 10

OK… so this new show on CBS, Power of 10, is interesting.

It’s simple, dramatic, and has a lot of money riding on it. If there is one thing it has going for it, it is that you can root for these contestants as opposed to the crap fest that Deal or no Deal has always been.

Bob Stewart always said that if people at home were shouting at their television sets, you know you had a good game. I was yelling and screaming.

I will be watching next Wednesday at 8:00 PM Eastern/7:00 Central Time.

Clue Me In – New Goodies!

For those of you that like video… there are now clips on the Clue Me In website showing how the game works.

Comments appreciated again, as always!

OK, for those of you who have been reading about my game show, “Clue Me In”, here is your chance to read about it!

About “Clue Me In”

You can listen to an open there, too.

If only I could get this darn capture card to work properly, I might try to put clips up somewhere.

Opinions are appreciated, of course.

Maybe I should update this thing…

Not much to report, I have left the news department internship for the time being, waiting for an internship to come up in production. Greg seems to think I’ll get it, I however am always the skeptical one. We’ll see, I guess.

Still working on the drama idea, only on episode two, but haven’t touched it in a couple of weeks, I plan to do something about that today as soon as I get some minor homework out of the way.

Our return trip to California is postponed, probably until next March, for various reasons I won’t go into here, but it’ll be a better trip at that time next year. At the very least, they should be taping Price again by then, we hope…

Not much more to say, I guess I’ll solicit feedback sometime on my drama scripts once they reach an appropriate draft status, but I’ll talk more about that later.
