Well friends, Super Bowl XL is finally here, and I have waited until this day to issue my last pick of the season.

I have thought about this one long and hard ever since the conference championships ended. I have toiled and toiled and struggled to figure out who the winner would be. And I finally made up my mind…

And, btw, Fox is bold, running 3 Simpsons repeats and 3 Family Guy repeats up against this monster. Ha.

Me and Greg were down in Knoxville last night to watch a Ice Bears hockey game. This is the first in-person hockey game I have ever attended. It was very exciting, I had loads of fun, so did Greg. Knoxville pulled out a 6-5 win coming from behind three times in the 3rd period. And yes, a fight did break out during the game (but that’s not why I went, hehe).

Note to self: don’t buy the $6 student seats next time, get the $11 seats. Maybe I can see both goals next time without obstruction. 😛

I just placed a bit on EBay for the first CD issue of Star Wars from 1986 on the Polydor label. It was opened at $20 w/ reserve. I put a $40 bid in.

Needless to say, Greg freaked out. But I want this CD, and I don’t how bad I really do want it. We’ll find out in the next four days I guess.

Pittsburgh at Denver- While I think that Denver has been the sleeper team of the season, I think that Roethlisberger and Co. are way too hot right now, and I’m going to go out on a huge limb and pick them to go to Detroit in two weeks.

Carolina at Seattle- It’s hard to pick against a team with the home field advantage like Seattle has at Safeco Field. It’s hard to pick against Carolina with the threat of Delhomme and Smith. I’d say Carolina will have a great chance, even if Julius Peppers is on the bubble with his shoulder injury. I’m going with the Panthers here due to the experience factor of being in the big game, but this will be a good, close game, don’t get me wrong. No blowouts here.

So, how did my first week of class go…. here’s the lowdown.

Radio Production: Back on “The Edge” this semseter, but now have to do a 2-minute news update and a 2-minute sports update every week. At least the sports can be anything collegiate, not just ETSU. I think I can swing this.

Social Problems: A surprise hit me when I got to this class, it’s geared towards women’s studies. I find this to be an intriguing challenge, so I’ll go with it. It’s writing intensive, so I’ll have a paper and some essays. Joy.

Values and Society: Ahhh, philosophy. Writing intensive. More papers. Joy. But I’ll be OK.

Prob/Stats (Non-calculus): Mike, if things get hairy, you may be hearing from me (just kidding!) 🙂

Broadcast Performance: I’m gonna really like this class. Get the knack of being on-camera. I need to experience this. 🙂

I think I’m going to enjoy having Fridays off.

Gee, I never thought I’d see the day when I would get flamed on a game show forum for mistakenly using the word ironic instead of conicidental.

SciFi lands new Doctor Who

Booyah!!!! I’ve been hoping someone will pick up these 13 shows, and America will finally get to see what the UK loved early last year.

I just pray they don’t hack them to bits. (I doubt it though).

I saw a couple of weird signs over the last month, and while I didn’t get pictures of them, trust me in when I tell you that it is indeed real.

The first one I saw around New Year’s at a video store here in JC (Movie Starz on North Roan, for those of you local folk here) advertising their new releases to the effect of…
