OK, so I’m tidying up an old personal ad I have (which of course reads that I’m in a relationship and only seeing friends), when I get a message over Yahoo. This is only because my screenname is listed as a form of contact. Turns out this guy is from Brunei. Brunei? Yes, that Brunei. Is there a country that dosen’t have internet capability these days? I tell you.

And I have one thing to lament on: Carson fucking Palmer. What a bad break for him and his ACL/MCL. Ouch. I went 1-3 this weekend. Ouch for me too, but at least I didn’t tear out my MCL or ACL making the picks.

That’s all for now.

NFL Wild Card Weekend Picks

Did everyone forget about the point totals for the tiebreaker? Carl, it’s your fault. 😛

Here are my picks

Washington at Tampa Bay [41]
Jacksonville at New England (Yes, I’m going against NE) [35]
Carolina at NY Giants [28]
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati [49]

And there you have it.

Oh, forgot about this… Fall ’05 Grades

Eh, I did OK. 🙂

Spring ’06, bring it on! 😀

Week 17 and the regular season has ended. Eric Duncan is the leader and the champ of the regular season. I wish I had a trophy to give out, but, and Eric, I think you’re in my boat on this, I’m a broke college student too, lol.

I’m going to be picking in the playoffs and I hope you all will be too. Thanks for participating for those of you who choose not to pick in the playoffs (if there are any).

Now, nobody is required to pick in the playoffs, but if you do, please exercise the tiebreaking procedure. Very simply, try to predict what the total points scored between the two teams will be. Details and such on how the tie is broken is over at the standings page.

If you think there was an error with your record, I’m going to re-verify all the standings later on tonight (I’ve already checked Curt’s and corrected a discrepancy), just to make double sure I have everyone’s records correct. If you think there is an error, please email me at [email protected]

Thanks for a great regular season!

2005 Thoughts

Since the year is about 11 days from being over, and usually nothing of relevance happens over the holidays for me, I thought I’d review what is one of the best years of my life.

To start with, I was in an unhappy job but looking forward to starting college again, and I had fun during that spring semester. Before it ended, I decided to leave my job to focus more on my studies, which has turned out to be a great move so far.

This is all blown away by meeting the love of my life in late February, and we officially became a couple on March 25th (write that date down in history, folks, hehe). I must say in the here and now that certain people advised me against seeing this person, but I trust myself and I know I made the right decision, Greg is a really sweet and affectionate person, and I hope that nobody hates me for being with him. I have no qualms against anyone at all.

The summer was an interesting time, finally getting around to see some of the sights of the area, roadgeeking a bit, enjoying the nature and mountains… that is until the gas prices started to go up and forced me to stay at home. Oh well, lol.

The autumn was full of football excitement, especially on the high school level, doing commentary on some games while Greg was the videographer, just an amateurish effort, but a good start at getting my feet wet as to what it’s like to be a broadcaster. It takes a lot more to BE a broadcaster in this day and age, I know, but I’m learning.

And these last few weeks have been up and down. The woes of the end of semester, coupled with the joys of being with my family and meeting my nephew Casey Lee Mooneyhan II for the first time was a great joy. I am going to be with my family again on Christmas Day, and hopefully my brother, the misses and my nephew will be there too.

For new year’s, I plan to be with Greg at his place to ring in the new year.

2005, what a year. Makes me wonder what 2006 will be like. I can only hope for the best!

Reflecting on the year…

Stolen from many others… Go thru your archives, and find the first post from each month, then copy the
first sentence.

January: Well, the last two days have been quite crazy folks.

February: So, I happened to start talking to a fellow broadcasting major here at ETSU
named Greg, turns out he found me through the Invision board (which most of you
on my friends list are familiar with).

March: Happy 30th to my tried and true friend lo these many years… a very belated
happy birthday to hmtriplecrown. (Mike, put down that object…)

April: I love my new TV Card, you don’t know how long I’ve longed for this
capability….

May: Well, finals went very well, I have no fear that I have done well in all my
classes.

June: Well, my Radio/TV Writing class starts next Monday.

July: This is scary, hehe….

August: Nothing much to say lately.

September: As I’ve watched the images of the devastation along the gulf unfold over the
last few days, I’m left with one lasting impression. (This was the beginning of thoughts of the NO disaster, what a shame that was for the country)

October: First entry was NFL Week 4 picks, not really an intro sentence there.

November: Do you know what really grinds my gears? People talking in class with no care
for anyone who may actually care about the class.

December: So, next week is what is traditionally called dead week, but it’s not dead at
all, in fact, it will be just as bad as most weeks in the semester.

And there you have that!
