Last Pre-Class Thoughts

Well, class starts tomorrow. Work was a bitch today. I hope that I can balance between the two… and not let work be the greater of the two. If it ends up being that way, I will go to part-time. Mark my words. 😀

I am very pumped about starting class tomorrow, it’s what I’ve been waiting for, and what’s out there is mine for the taking. I know I’ll do well, but I’m not overly confident or having an inflated opinion of myself by any stretch of the imagination.

And Mike, btw, I’ll let you know if I need some help with that Algebra (ha ha ha!!!!)

Thoughts from Friday

I forgot to tell you guys about meeting my roomate, LJ has been down the last couple of days

Josh is my new roommate, and he’s a easy to get along with, laid back fellow. Couldn’t ask for a better roommate, I feel at home already. He’s an avid gamer… maybe I could get his input on how to fix my fucking USB port… I knew I shouldn’t have tried to overlay drivers off of the ‘net to try to get USB 2.0

So, I’m quite happy with my new pad, that’s for sure.

The Weekend Before the Storm

Folks, I truly hated work today. Nothing but challenges afoot. Now I’m home, and couldn’t be happier. I just got reminded of how much I hate my job today, and am so glad I’m not trying to make a career out of working in a credit card call center.

Now watching a true Saturday Night Live classic, with Eric Idle as host (aired 4/23/1977). The whole monologue gag of “Save Great Britian” is classic, as well as David Frost’s 20 hour interview of Richard Nixon (played by Dan Aykroyd). Good stuff.

I’ll be around online tomorrow watching the rest of the NFL Divisional Playoffs, fun fun, and just for the record, I think that Indy and Philly will win. (But this won’t count towards my old records, which I plan to be back in the picking game next season).

Ciao.

And Here I Am!

Well folks, I am logged on and ready to roar here at Buc Ridge #227 (and no, Jackee is NOT here) 😛

More to come later…

Tomorrow is Another Day

Well folks, alas, my big move is tomorrow. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this move.

Everything is a go. Going to get a 14ft model U-Haul in the morning, my brother is coming over to help me after he gets off of work tomorrow evening, and I have plenty of time in the morning and afternoon to get moved into my apartment. I’ll miss my old place on Gray Station Road, which I have been in since June of 2003, but I am moving on to exciting opportunites, the least of which is having a roomate for the first time. His name is Josh, and I guess I’ll meet him tomorrow, I’ll give you all the details on how everything goes…

Next post will be from my new pad tomorrow, see you then!

BTW- if anyone wants to jot down my email for reference, it’s [email protected] 🙂

Moving now at 90% (approx.), not bad… all that’s left is my kitchen goods and what I’m taking to my new room with me.

Went to financial aid this morning, and they told me that the other half of my loan would be dispersed in March like the other Stafford loan. Oops, I forgot that… (Note to self: need to get that Account Online password reset, so I can see some details on my loans).

Friday can’t come soon enough, hehe. 🙂

Moving Moving Moving

Well, about 80% of my stuff is in mini-storage by now. Just have some books and the kitchen items left to go, and that will be it.

ETSU screwed up, cutting one of my loans in half. Going there tomorrow to complain and wonder why. Also have to try and get my books, as it stands, I only have actual aid left of around $190 becuase one of my loans ($970) does not disburse until early March. I just want to say “cripes!”

An observation: have you ever noticed that when you move in somewhere, the unpacking process takes no time at all, and you go through your stuff rather quickly… but when you pack to move, the amount of stuff you have seems to double? Unreal, I say. But, alas, just an observation.

BTW, I can’t wait for Friday folks, I’ll be back online and have cable again.

PS: Chuck, I’m hooked on 24 again too (haven’t really watched since Season One), made sure to set my tape for Hours 3 and 4 tonight.

First Post of ’05

Well, the last two days have been quite crazy folks. Here’s the recap:

Friday: Went to Pharaoh’s, a bar downtown, to ring in the new year. Had a couple generous glasses of champagne at midnight. Fun atmosphere, great way to ring in the new year!

Saturday: Dan and me went to Asheville, NC to a club called Scandals. Met one of Dan’s friends Chad, great guy, hope to get to know him better. Spent the better part of 3 hours (from 2:00-5:00ish) at a Denny’s just sitting around and chatting about anything and everything. Good stuff. Got home at 8:30 this morning, died, rose again at 2:30, now at work.

Nothing really worth noting happened those two days, but I had a good couple of days. And now, the processing of packing up and moving begins.

2004- Year in Review

This will probably be my last entry for 2004, so, I shall do some brief reflection.

This year has been quite a year. Most of the year I have been off the internet for the most part, but still have kept in touch for the most part with everyone, a big plus. I also have stayed true to my word of not lowering my standards for a relationship, a major plus for me. I am not as financially secure as I would like to be, but I am already taking steps to make sure that is a goal that will be achieved in 2005. I have lost a couple of friends along the way, but I was sure it was the right thing to do. In the new year, I will be careful on whom I call “friend” rather than “acquaintance”.

It’s been an interesting year on the job front, and it has come to the end of being very dissatisfied with my job, but I have to make do with it, because it pays the bills.

The most significant thing to happen in the last year is of course getting the ability to go back to college, I am so excited to be entering one of the most significant times of my life, and have complete confidence that this will help to get me (finally) into something that until now I’ve only dreamed of doing… well, it’s not a dream anymore. 🙂

So, I bid thee farewell 2004, and here’s to a great 2005! Happy New Year to all in LJ land!

and I’ll try not to get too drunk.

Musings of the Packrat

I have come to some conclusions as I look ahead to the daunting task of packing 90% of my stuff to be put in storage in the next couple of weeks:

1. I keep way too much fucking stuff that I should throw out.

2. Mini Storage is fucking expensive!

3. I’ll be so relieved once it’s over and done with.

Three points to live by, courtesy of yours truly. (I don’t know what you’ll do with those points, but I’m sure you’ll think of something to do with them.)

In other news, I weep for Cavalier fans after the massive comeback put on by Fresno State in the MPC Computers Bowl yesterday. I left this game at 3:00 PM to come to work with the score UVA 21, FSU 7, and find out that FSU won the game 34-31 in Overtime. When I heard that, I swear, I almost literally did a spit take on my monitor. Unbelieveable is an underestimation of this! I wonder what the Bull Crap Series has in store for us over the next few days.
